Cantabria is an autonomous community located in the north of Spain. It borders with Vizcaya, Asturias to the west, Cantrabic sea to it's north, and to the south with Catilla and Leon. It's surface area measures more than 5,000 squared kilometers, and it's capital is Santander. The Community of Cantabria in Spain has a population of a little bit over 600,000 inhabiants. 200,000 of them live in Santander, it's capital. It is a community that has a high rate of coastal tourism, beach tourism and cultural tourism. The beauty of the landscape in Cantabria is made up of coast and mountains. In both places there is something special. The interior has it's Peaks of Europe Park, and the Santander bay has the Cantabria coastline.
The climate in Cantabria is humid, rainy and cool during the winter, and warmer throughout the rest of the months, especially in the summer. The climate is a climate that is typical in the north of Europe, not because of extreme temperatures but beacuse of the rain causes mild temperatures even during the summer. There is an abesence of drought and an abundance of vegetation in it's mountain range.
If you're wondering about access to and fro Cantabria, it has great access to the rest of Spain whether it be by plane, train or car. Access to certain mountain towns may be a little bit more difficult do their location.
Cantabria is history, nature, the European Peaks park and everything beautiful you can imagine. We are amongst an autonomous region that has 7 natural parks, one being the Peaks of Europe that sits under the category or National Park. As to what gastronomy is concerned, everyone can say that it is a delicious gastronomy. Elaborate dishes, delicous stews, meats and fish and amazing desserts.
Another question some may have is the dates of the festivities. It's ancient traditions are kept alive generation after generation year after year. There are many different activities that take place such as rowing and trekking.
